1. Online Test Round – Starship
❖ Format: Online tests on the website www.starawards.vn
The Online Test Round – Starship is simultaneously taken place at 6 clusters nationwide with the format of online testing on computers or mobile devices. When signing up accounts on the website, contestants are required to provide their factual personal information for the Organization Committee to verify and contact if necessary. After finishing the registration, each contestant will be provided with one account to do the test.
Each contestant has 5 attempts to do the test, of which the one with the best result will be used for assessment if the contestant is qualified to enter the next round. The contestant will access the Internet and do the online test with 30 questions in 35 minutes. Weekly, Top 10 contestants with the highest scores in each cluster will win weekly prizes.
2. Semi-Final Round – Starplus
❖ Format: Each cluster must ensure that there are 30 contestants entering the semi-final round to divide into 10 teams (3 people each team) then 05 teams with excellent ideas will enter the cluster final round. Competition teams build and propose ideas for 01 project/model/product to apply information technology and digital transformation in the business model of enterprises.
10 Contestants have 12 days to develop their ideas and submit their completed entries to the Organizing Committee within the stipulated time. (The entry must fully present the purpose, role, function, usability, novelty, innovation of the product, pricing of the product in the market) The judges will assess the 10 entries of the teams. The top 5 teams with the highest scores will participate in the Cluster Final round
3. Cluster Final Round – Starlight
❖ Format
The Cluster Final Round consists of 3 following parts:
● Part 1:Warm-up (20% of total score)
05 teams answer 20 multiple-choice questions in English directly on the computer, within 10 minutes. The content of the questions related to general knowledge of social issues, education, digital transformation, intellectual property.
Each correct answer gets 20 points, wrong answer does not deduct points. The maximum score for this test is 400 points.
● Part 2: Acceleration (20% of total score)
The teams answer 10 crosswords in English and find the final keyword: The teams will choose to open each crossword and answer the questions. The form of questions is videos of data, logical thinking, arrangement… The time to think and answer each question is 30 seconds.
The team that chooses the correct answer will receive 40 points, and the wrong answer will be deducted 10 points. The remaining 04 teams win the right to answer by pressing the bell, correct answers get 25 points, wrong answers will not deduct points. The crosswords are the hints to find the key word of this round. For each correct answer, a suggested image corner for the keyword will be opened.
Contestants can press the bell to win the right to answer keywords at any time. Correct answer within the first 2 questions is 80 points, in the next 2 questions is 60 points, from the remain questions is 40 points. If the answer is incorrect, the team must end the test. The maximum score for this section is 440 points
● Part 3: Idea Presentation
The teams take turns to present ideas and answer questions from the opponent team. The teams have a maximum time of 07 minutes to introduce and briefly present the highlights of their projects. (The presentation encourages the use of information technology to increase the attractiveness and persuasiveness of the project). Which includes the following:
* Functions, features of the project.
* The project’s value.
* Potential for consumption when deployed to the market.
Presentation content must be submitted to the Organizing Committee 3 days before the final round is held. At the end of the team’s presentation, the team assigned to debate will be allowed to ask a maximum of 2 questions. The time for the opponent team to ask questions is 1 minute, the presenting team has a maximum of 3 minutes to answer the question. The language used during the Cluster Finals is English.
The team with the highest score combined from the above 3 parts will represent the cluster to attend the National Final Round in Ho Chi Minh City. The Cluster Judging Council will give suggestions for the team to complete the idea.
4. National Final Round – Star Union
The National Final Round will be held in Ho Chi Minh City and hosted by the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. This round includes the following activities:
4.1. Project Consultancy and Training Activities
Before the day of the National Final Round, the teams will get advice from the Panel of Judges to finalize their projects and attend training courses on presentation and debate in English as well as other skills.
4.2. Voting the most favourite team
The teams will design 01 video introducing the team and the contest project and submit it to the Organizing Committee according to the specified time (7 days before the National Finals). The videos will be uploaded by the Organizing Committee to the contest’s official fanpage and voted for “Most Favorite Team”.
4.2. The National Final Round
❖ Format:
Top 6 teams representing 6 clusters to join the National Final Round will go through these following parts:
● Part 1: Introduction
– 06 teams introduce their teams (hobbies, talents, dynamism, creativity of the members), and at the same time show the team’s perception of digital transformation thinking in society.
– 06 teams have a maximum of 05 minutes to introduce their team in English.
+ The introductions of the competing teams are presented in a variety of forms.
+ Teams can ask collaborators to support the contest, but no more than 5 people and are not allowed to participate in the speaking part of the team.
The maximum score for this test is 200 points.
● Part 2: Calling for investment (80% of points)
– The final round will be held in the form of calling for project investment. The teams presented and called for investment capital.
– 06 projects will be presented on stage. The Organizing Committee will invite 30 investors, experts in the field of digital transformation, information technology, and intellectual property to participate in project evaluation.
Each team has a maximum of 08 minutes to briefly introduce the value of the team’s products and projects, in order to impress and attract investors and experts to invest in their projects. (The presentation encourages the use of information technology to increase the attractiveness and the persuasiveness of the project).
The powerpoint must be submitted by the contest team to the Organizing Committee 5 days before the organization of the national final round. It emphasizes the following:
* Highlights of the project
* Potential for consumption when deployed to the market.
* The reason the Organizing Committee have to invest in the project.
At the end of each team’s presentation, the Jury Council will ask a maximum of 02 questions to the team, and the team has 3 minutes to respond to the judges’ questions. After finishing the presentation and critique of 06 teams, investors and experts will conduct investment voting for each project. For each investment ticket, the team will be added 30 points. The project that receives the most investment, has the highest score will be the final winning team.
The official language in the National Final Round is English. From the total score of the three parts, the Panel of Judges will choose 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 3 consolation prizes.
3.3. Experiencing the market tour
After the contest, all teams will have practical experience with a market tour, paying a visit to the distribution channels and factories of Wilmar CLV.
3.4. Experiencing the local tourism
Apart from the market tour, the teams will pay a visit to many tourist attractions in HCMC.
