THE CURRENT TRENDS IN GENZ’S JOB CHOICE

With the participation of Gen Z, the major workforce in many nations and areas worldwide, the labor market in Vietnam and the rest of the world is currently undergoing constant change. There are significant contrasts in the ways that young people in this age think compared to those in the preceding generation since they have access to amazing advancements in technology and culture. As a result, there are numerous changes in the work choices available to members of the Gen Z age today.
 
 
1. The tendency to select positions offering quick advancement and promotion
Gen Z has very high standards for their careers, which include both personal and financial growth. Young people in Generation Z are particularly interested in career paths and prospects for personal growth, but they also take into account economic issues such as being able to save and live comfortably when choosing a job. They typically pick workplaces where they can contribute, have their opinions heard, feel accepted for who they are as individuals, and, most importantly, have lots of chances to advance their knowledge and abilities. This not only illustrates Gen Z’s basic financial demands but also their desire for a strong future foundation—they don’t just work to make a living but also want to build a long-term, sustainable career.
 
2. Good benefits, flexible working policy
The welfare system and workplace practices of the company rank among the next crucial considerations for Gen Z job seekers. They think that companies with strong welfare programs and comprehensive policies to take care of and protect the lives of their workers will be highly desirable to employers in the labor market. Furthermore, an increasing number of recent studies have demonstrated that the desire to obtain a job with a flexible work schedule is on the rise, particularly in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Gen Z generation’s youth frequently want employment that encourages independence, does not impose preconceptions or require them to spend eight hours a day in an office, and provides them with the inspiration to grow personally.
 
3. Working environment
The work environment is a crucial component that influences a person’s level of commitment and should be considered when young people are selecting a career. When asked about the trends in their career choices, the majority of Gen-Zers interviewed said that they wanted to work in a peaceful workplace where they could feel connected to their coworkers and receive support from them both professionally and personally. This is currently one of the most important things that businesses focus on in an effort to draw in and keep young individuals who have a lot of potential for development.
 
4. Work-life balance
The opinions of the Gen Z youth regarding the current standard of living are articulated. This is a new trend in the labor market and is also the biggest distinction between Gen Z and prior generations. Their standards for maintaining a healthy work-life balance are typically higher. The Gen Z generation does not view work as everything, and they seek to strike a balance between a fulfilling profession and personal hobbies, family time, and self-care. This is a crucial step for young people to take in order to attain their job goals and have fulfilling lives, in addition to being a means of bringing peace into their lives.
 
The aforementioned job selection trends make it abundantly evident that young Gen Z workers want their employment to be important, contribute to society, and represent their own values and views in addition to being just another way to make ends meet.
